Gilt Burmese Hsun-Ok Bowl on Stand - Late 19th Century Chests Reproduction Bronze Han Dynasty RamHsun Ok bowls were primarily used by Burmese families to carry their food offerings to the temple which would be received by the monks. The bowls could also be used to display offerings next to an image of Buddha or at a shrine. This late 19th century Hsun Ok bowl is gilded lacquer on teak wood. The interior is red lacquer. Expertly crafted, the two halves fit together snugly and this classic style emulates the Buddhist stupas found across Burma. From
