THE SOO LINE IN THE LATE 1970'S Softcover UP steam to diesel transitionThe Soo Line Railroad was a classic Midwest class one that operated from Portal, North Dakota to Sault Saint Marie, Michigan, along with many branch lines throughout its system. This railroad sported many different types of locomotives with several different lettering schemes. Photographer Fred Crissey spent time documenting movements on the Soo Line in the late 1970's. The segments Fred captured include the Minneapolis, Minnesota to Owen, Wisconsin
