Painted Indian Stone Parrot Turban Hanger From Bikaner - 18th Century Style - Tianqiuping 'Bottle' Vases 72 x 42 x 60This stone turban hanger (called a khunti in Hindi) has been carved in the shape of a parrot. Originating in Bikaner in Northern Rajasthan, this would have been used daily for turbans or a clothes peg. They are often seen in palaces & houses of the wealthier classes, normally plastered into the wall. Further south in Dungarpur, other animals like horses and peacock designs are found.
