Germany, Wehrmacht. A General Assault Badge consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac specifying all rules and regulations(Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, around a central Heer style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, situated above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 42. 95 mm (w) x 54. 34 mm (h), weighing 33. 7 grams, an unusual example of a zink badge in near mint condition.
